Lviv Polytechnic attracts thousands of entrants from all over the country every year. In 2024, the results of the admission campaign showed which majors are the most popular among entrants.
According to Mykhailo Honchar, Executive Secretary of Admissions Committee at Lviv Polytechnic National University, most entrants applied for the Management program – 2362. The second place is taken by Psychology – 1997, which is not surprising, as this year this major is the leader in all universities. Marketing is the third most popular one among entrants – 1508. Cybersecurity is in fourth place – 1404. And the last in the top five popular majors is Law – 1044.
Mykhailo Honchar also named the Institutes that will receive the largest number of entrants this year: IEM – 6595, ICSIT – 5011, ILPIE – 4275 and ICTA – 3176. Less than 2,000 applications have been submitted to other Institutes.
As for all universities in Ukraine, the information system Vstup.OSVITA.UA has ranked the most popular majors by the number of applications submitted by entrants for a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in medicine, pharmacy and veterinary medicine on the basis of complete general secondary education.
This year, Psychology is in the lead with 49,782 applications. The following majors in the top 5 are: Management (47,813), Philology (44,663), Law (40,265), and Computer Science (33,121).
The information system also identified the majors for which entrants submitted the fewest applications: Shipbuilding (217 applications), Public Health (163), Educational and Pedagogical Sciences (75), Religious Studies (62) and Information Security Management (12).
These statistics are not much different from last year’s, except for the following majors: Law (17 thousand fewer applications were submitted compared to 2023), Computer Science (almost 10 thousand fewer applications were submitted) and Software Engineering (almost 7 thousand fewer applications were submitted).
