Professor Roman Korzh, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Professor Roman Shuliar, the Department of Management and International Business, the Institute of Economics and Management, participated in the final meeting of the AFID project and the first meeting of the new UNITWIN project. The event was held at the Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon) – a leading university in Portugal.
During December 8–12, 2025, the participants of the meeting discussed the results and summarized the possibilities of developing the AFID project to support inclusion in the educational activities of partner institutions. The Virtual Inclusive Campus (VIC), which promotes academic freedom, mobility, inclusion, and opportunities for informal education for students from various inclusive groups, has welcomed two new partners in Ukraine: Sumy National Agrarian University and Lutsk National Technical University.
More than 70 students from Lviv Polytechnic University have been trained in the Virtual Inclusive Campus under the AFID project. The project participants included internally displaced persons, internally displaced persons from abroad, combatants and people with disabilities as the main inclusive groups: the courses are adapted for asynchronous learning, contain video recordings of lectures and other classes with subtitles. These options enable the broad use of the courses for inclusive education, particularly upon the recommendation of Professor Roman Korzh for the Veterans Service Center at our university.
The new VIC partners are developing further courses according to the specified requirements to strengthen the entrepreneurial competencies of students from various fields of knowledge.
The first meeting of the new UNITWIN project, in which Lviv Polytechnic National University is a participant, focused on developing a detailed implementation plan in line with European Commission requirements. The UNITWIN project addresses the strengthening of competencies among learners and company employees to support the Twin Transition, specifically the green and digital transformation of corporate management.
Professor Roman Shuliar delivered to the consortium participants a presentation about Lviv Polytechnic and the main elements of its participation in the implementation of the UNITWIN project. In particular, the participants were shown the website project, the UNITWIN logo, and a detailed dissemination plan during the project implementation in the next 3 years.
Following the results of the first meeting, the consortium participants identified the success of the AFID Virtual Inclusive Campus as a strong basis and basic tool for implementing the goals of the UNITWIN project.
