Ten students from Romania, who took part in the International Summer School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” with the assistance of the Union of the Ukrainians of Romania (UUR), received the relevant certificates.

With the financial support of the Union of the Ukrainians of Romania, from 13 to 26 July 2020, ten students, who study the Ukrainian language and literature at the Universities of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Suceava, Romania, took part in the International Summer School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” (because of the coronavirus pandemic — online), organized by the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (IECDR), Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine.
The IECDR handed over virtual certificates to students and the originals had already been sent to the UUR. Thus, the award ceremony will be organized by the leadership of the UUR.
It is reported that during the two weeks of study, students from Romania together with students from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Germany and Poland listened to an intensive course in Ukrainian as a foreign language, had daily conversations with native speakers and discussion clubs with celebrities, as well as got acquaintance with Ukrainian culture — from folklore to contemporary art.
The solemn closing of the XIII International Summer School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” took place online. Irina Liuba Horvat, Secretary General of the UUR conveyed congratulations on behalf of Nicolae-Miroslav Petrețchi, President of the UUR, and introduced aspects of Ukrainian schooling in Romania and expressed her gratitude to IECDR for its fruitful cooperation.
Iryna Kliuchkovska, Director of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (IECDR), in a letter addressed to the President of the UUR, noted: “We appreciate your assistance in teaching a group of Romanian students at our Summer School, which proves your active position and activity”.
