On June 25, students of the Department of Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics of the Institute of Geodesy received their certificates for successfully completed English-taught course.
In the spring semester 2017, the Department of PG introduced the teaching of Interpretation and processing of aerial and space images discipline in English. For the Institute of Geodesy this is novelty. Approbation was successful – students fulfilled all the tasks, successfully passed the exam in English and received the certificates.
The implementation of teaching in English language lasted longer than a year. The lecturers, including Iryna Zaiats and Liubov Babii, took refresher courses abroad as a part of international cooperation between the institute and the department, and received the certificates. For students who wanted to study the discipline in English, there were organized trial lectures and assessments. As a result, there was formed a group of 12 people, designed teaching program and educational-methodical complex of the discipline for virtual learning environment in English.
The English teaching initiative provoked a great interest among the students of the Institute of Geodesy, therefore, the Department of PG decided to implement English teaching of three more disciplines (two for bachelors and one for masters) in 2018/2019 academic year. Today the groups of students have already been formed and the teaching programs have been designed.
Also, two students of the department, Myroslava Biala and Yuliia Pariichuk, were awarded the laureate certificates of the international competition of student scientific works organized by the University of Agriculture in Krakow.
