The Department of Ukrainian Language, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites students of 9, 10 and 11 grades to participate in the Spring School «Training Courses on the Ukrainian Language (NMT-2024)».
The Spring School will last from February 5 to April 8, 2024 and will be held online on the Zoom platform. Those who wish to participate must register filling out an electronic form.
The School starts on Tuesday, February 6, at 19:00. Education is free.
PROGRAM
Spring School «Training courses on the Ukrainian language (NMT-2024)»,

for entrants of Lviv Polytechnic
- 1st week – Phonetics and melodiousness of the Ukrainian language
- Myroslava Hnatiuk. At the trainings, the participants learn to recognize the pronunciation of vowels and consonants (sound combination dzh, dz; assimilation, simplification in groups of consonants; pronunciation of soft, lengthened and doubled consonants), the ratio of sounds and letters. Participants also master the means of melodiousness of the Ukrainian language.
- 2nd and 3rd week – Orthographic norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Zoriana Kunch, Iryna Mentynska. At the trainings, the participants acquire the skills of recognizing learned orthograms, spelling words correctly, finding and correcting spelling mistakes according to the learned rules.
- 4th and 5th week – Lexical norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Liliia Kharchuk, Oksana Mykytiuk. At the trainings, the participants learn to explain the lexical meanings of words; to choose synonyms and antonyms and use them in speech; to use words figuratively; to find in the text and appropriately use in speech the learned groups of words by meaning (homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, paronyms); to explain the meaning of phraseological units and use them correctly and appropriately in speech.
- 6th week – Morphological norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Oksana Lytvyn. At the trainings, the participants learn to recognize different parts of speech, to conjugate them correctly, to distinguish correct forms from incorrect ones, to use them in speech paying attention to their expressiveness; and also to determine the compatibility of numerals with nouns.
- 7th and 8th week – Syntactic norms of the literary Ukrainian language
- Halyna Horodylovska, Sofia Bulyk-Verkhola. At the trainings, the participants learn different types of sentences, identify the subject and predicate as the main members and secondary members of compound and complex sentences.
- 9th week – Ukrainian punctuation
- Iryna Shmilyk. At the trainings, the participants learn complex cases of Ukrainian punctuation.
