The Internet of Things program in Computer Science at Lviv Polytechnic National University was established by Lviv IT Cluster in 2016. It was the first of 17 programs to be developed in collaboration with the Department and IT professionals. Currently, more than fifty IT specialists are involved in the IoT program. In 2021, the second group of students received bachelor’s degrees. The celebration took place at Intellias, whose representatives contributed significantly to the preparation and implementation of the IoT educational program.

The IoT program is the result of effective cooperation of many leading IT companies in Lviv. These include Intellias, SoftServe, PLVision, Perfectial, Infineon Technologies and other IT companies in the Cluster.

The innovative program «Internet of Things» at Lviv Polytechnic combines new disciplines and modern technical base for effective learning. Students enjoy a wide range of opportunities in the development and programming of IoT devices in the laboratory «Internet of Things» and the laboratory «Design and Construction of the Internet of Things», which were created with the support of Lviv IT companies.

To bring the learning process closer to real projects, considerable attention is paid to teamwork and training with mentors who have significant professional experience in the IT industry.

Another advantage of the IoT program is the wide opportunities for gaining the first professional experience. Successful students participated in hackathons and conferences, underwent internships in the largest IT companies in Lviv, in order to gain a full set of knowledge and skills needed to build a successful career in 4 years.

This year’s admission campaign once again testified to the growing popularity of the IoT program – a total of almost 800 applications were received, the passing score for training on the government-funded places is 193.4. This year there are 65 government-funded places for this program, most of which are already occupied as of August 2.
