Recently, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine published the results of a competitive selection of scientific and technical developments recommended for funding by state order. Among the winners of the competition was a project of scientists from the Institute of Geodesy.

«The Institute of Geodesy serves the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station, the Kaniv Hydroelectric Station, the Dnister Pumped Storage Power Station and the Middle Dnipro Hydroelectric Station. Our scientists process all the data that is constantly coming to the server. The main idea of the project is to identify the impact of various dynamic factors, including seismicity, on the engineering structures of hydroelectric power plants. To do this, we need to create a network of satellite stations around these hydropower plants. Due to the processing of the results that come to us, it will be possible to track the impact of external factors on the stability of engineering structures and safety of their operation», said Kornylii Tretiak, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Director of the Institute of Geodesy,

Polytechnicians plan to start developing a comprehensive system for monitoring deformations, displacements and stresses of hydroelectric dams in Ukraine in October 2022.
