Rector of Lviv Polytechnic Nataliia Shakhovska takes part in the joint Polish-Ukrainian Rector’s Day at Warsaw University of Technology

On 24 June 2025, the Warsaw University of Technology hosted the joint Polish-Ukrainian Rector’s Day, a platform for establishing deeper academic and scientific cooperation between universities in Poland and Ukraine. Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, attended the event.

The meeting focused on the systemic prerequisites for Polish-Ukrainian research cooperation; intensification of joint research activities; participation of research teams from both countries in international projects; responses to the war challenges and European trends in the development of higher education and science.

Nataliia Shakhovska moderated the section «Evaluation of Scientific Activity – National Context and European Trends» which dealt with models of scientific activity evaluation, their impact on the development of science, as well as challenges and ways to reform this sphere in Ukraine and Poland.

Representatives of the ministries of Poland and Ukraine took part in the section, presenting national evaluation models and outlining their vision of the future development of this area in accordance with European principles and standards.

Thus, the event became an important platform for sharing experiences on the evaluation systems functioning, their role in stimulating research and integrating national approaches into the wider European research space.
