Polytechnicians took an active part in the discussion of the draft Law of Ukraine on stimulating the development of Science Parks

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has published a report on the results of the public discussion of the draft Law of Ukraine «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Stimulating the Development of Science Parks». The public discussion, which is one of the stages of drafting the law, took place in the format of electronic consultations from 26 December 2024 to 25 January 2025, as well as in the format of public consultations during the Science City. Connecting Business and Science event on 15 January 2025.

All citizens of Ukraine and legal entities could participate in the discussion. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine received 16 written proposals from representatives of research institutions, universities, NGOs, businesses and independent experts. In particular, representatives of:

  • State Organisation «Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations»;
  • Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  • Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  • Lviv Polytechnic National University;
  • Odesa Polytechnic National University;
  • M.I. Dolishnyi Institute of Regional Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;

other organisations and institutions.

More than 100 representatives of the scientific and business communities attended the presentation of the draft act and public consultations during the Science City. Connecting Business and Science event. During the public discussion the proposals were provided by the representatives of the following institutions:

  • Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University;
  • Kyiv School of Economics;
  • SID City Scientific Park, Lviv Polytechnic National University;
  • Scientific and Technological Complex «Institute for Single Crystals» of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  • Ukrainian Catholic University;
  • Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;

and others.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has processed the received comments and will integrate them into the draft law. The revised document, taking into account the public’s suggestions, will soon be sent for approval to the central executive authorities.

After approval, the draft law will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for further adoption.
