Antonov State Enterprise is one of the most famous aircraft manufacturing companies in the world. To visit it was an unforgettable experience for students of Lviv Polytechnic National University, who had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique world of aviation and engineering.

– At the initiative of Antonov State Enterprise, I organised an excursion for students majoring in Aviation, Rocket and Space Engineering at the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Welding. The programme was very interesting and intense. Polytechnicians saw with their own eyes all the stages of aircraft manufacturing. During the tour, they were very attentive, asked the employees of the enterprise questions about what they were interested in, and joined the discussion. It is extremely important for future specialists to reinforce their knowledge with a practical understanding of what they have learnt while studying at university. Such excursions help them to better understand the essence of their chosen profession. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Antonov team for the opportunity to show students the company’s work in such a difficult time, said Olesia Maksymovych, Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Welding.

During the several-day programme, the students got acquainted with real work processes in the design hall, AT-1 aerodynamic complex and flight simulator. They visited the Antonov Museum and saw all stages of the aircraft production process – from design to manufacturing.

Also, under the patronage of Vladyslav Vlasyk, General Designer at Antonov, they visited the Aviation Training Hangar of the National Aviation University, which houses aircraft of a wide range of design schemes, different periods of development and operation, and the aircraft engine laboratory of the National Aviation University.

Such excursions are an important element of the educational process, as they not only enhance students’ theoretical knowledge, but also help them decide on their future professional career, establish relations with potential employers and get an idea of the real working conditions in their chosen field.
