On 19 June, a regular meeting of Lviv Polytechnic Supervisory Board was held with the participation of Rector Nataliia Shakhovska, Advisor to the Rector Yurii Bobalo, and Chairman of the Academic Board Volodymyr Ortynsky. During the meetng they discussed strategically important issues related to the further development of the University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Nataliia Shakhovska informed the audience about the process of organising the selection of candidates for the positions of Vice-Rectors.
In her report, Nataliia Shakhovska outlined:
the main areas of responsibility and functional duties of future vice-rectors;
the key goals set by the university management;
the system of key performance indicators (KPIs) that will be the basis for assessing their performance.
The composition of the specially created Selection Committee and its main tasks in the process of forming a new management team was also presented.
Volodymyr Ortynsky, who is the Chairman of the Selection Committee for Vice-Rectors, presented information on the submitted candidates for the positions of Vice-Rectors. He also announced the conclusions and recommendations of the Commission based on the results of the review of documents and interviews. The participants of the meeting discussed the requirements for the candidates and their compliance with the defined criteria.
The Supervisory Board paid special attention to the discussion of non-core assets of the University: the current state, the potential for using them to generate additional income, as well as options for optimising their management, etc. This was reported by Vice-Rector for Economic Affairs Vasyl Lemishovskyi.
The final item on the agenda was the initiative to create a fund to support the development of Lviv Polytechnic. Taras Kitsmey, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, made a report. He emphasised the readiness to create an independent fund which will be coordinated by the Supervisory Board to support the University administration.
