The website Osvita.ua has published the annual ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions based on the results of the admissions campaign held in 2024. The main purpose of its publication is to familiarise future applicants, their parents, educators and all interested parties with the open data of the admissions campaign to Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The publication of the ranking is primarily aimed at informing young people who plan to enter higher education institutions in 2025. This ranking will help future applicants learn more about admission to Ukrainian universities, assess their own chances and make a conscious choice of an institution for higher education. The proposed ranking will also be useful for administrations of higher education institutions, managers at all levels and educational experts.
The ranking statistics are divided into several groups and contain information on the average score of the National Multiple Subject Test, the number of people enrolled on state-funded and contract basis, competition for one state-funded place, and other data.
The highest NMT score for state-funded places
This ranking contains information on the average score of the National Multiple Subject Test of applicants who have been enrolled in the first year of study at the expense of the state or local budget to obtain a bachelor’s degree. This data will be useful for applicants and their parents to assess the chances of entering the chosen universities on a state-funded basis.
The average score of the National Multiple Subject Test was calculated among all persons enrolled in the first year of study at the expense of the state and local budgets to obtain a bachelor’s degree on the basis of complete general secondary education (11th grade) in full-time and part-time forms of study.
Since the number of state-funded students enrolled in higher education institutions varies significantly from one university to another, a confidence factor in the average NMT score (15% of the ranking score) was used to calculate the ranking score of the HEIs.
According to the results of the ranking, Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks fourth in the National Multiple Subject Test for state-funded places.
