Lviv Polytechnic Rector’s greetings on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

Every second Sunday in May, all of us have a very warm and touching feeling – the feeling of our family continuousness, which is personified in the immortal image of mother.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on this day in Ukraine. Whoever we are, whatever we have reached, on this day, we become simply daughters and sons of out mothers – tender, loyal and, for us, eternally young keepers of cozy family fire.

There is a wise saying, «There is one important date in your life – the day, when your mother gave birth to you». It is true that nothing, no other, even the greatest, event can be compared to the great mystery of nature – the birth of a new human being.

In Lviv Polytechnic, where traditionally male professions have been dominating, women have always been greatly respected – talented lecturers and researcher, curious and persevering students, caring keepers of the domestic fire, keepers of the human race. You give birth to children and raise them, passing traditions of high spirituality, culture and hard work from generation to generation. The generosity of your souls keeps all of us warm, the strength of your soul amazes us, and your beauty gives faith that the world will be saved.

On this blessed great day, I would like to send my sincere congratulations to all our colleagues – women-mothers! They show their creative inspiring work in various spheres of the learning process in our university as well as in other units. However, to the majority of them, the profession of a mother is the most important one.

I wish you all happiness, good health, family warmth and prosperity, love and real human happiness! May your children and grandchildren – the best and the most beautiful in the world – bring you only happiness, hope and delight!

Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University
