On 19 September 2025, the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (IP Office) held an award ceremony for the most active inventors and innovators in 2024.
The event took place on the eve of Inventor and Innovator Day, not only to honour outstanding inventors, but also to draw attention of the academic community to the importance of intellectual property and innovation for the country’s economic development.
Olena Orliuk, Director of IP Office, gave a welcome speech, emphasising the importance of intellectual property protection and briefly presenting the strategic directions of the IP Office’s activities.
During the event, winners were announced in six categories. Lviv Polytechnic National University took second place with 19 inventions after the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (28 inventions). Third place went to the National University of Pharmacy (12 inventions).

According to the IP Office’s ranking for the first half of 2025, Lviv Polytechnic National University ranked third among the most active educational and scientific institutions in submitting applications for inventions and utility models, with a total of 58 submissions.
