The university ranking by the number of first-year students is led by two Lviv institutions: Lviv Polytechnic National University and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The data, compiled by the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, is based on admission campaign figures provided by the Institute of Professional Qualifications.
Third place goes to Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics. Next in the ranking there is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute».
In total, 174,000 students enrolled in the first year at 351 higher education institutions. Another 15,800 students enrolled in master’s programmes.
64% of all first-year students study on a contract basis. The five most popular higher education institutions in terms of the number of first-year students who have chosen the contract format are Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.
