Queen’s University Belfast has launched the Week of High-Level Visits within the Ukrainian Week in the United Kingdom 2025 – a large-scale initiative that brings together universities, scholars and artists to promote Ukraine in the UK.
The events will be held offline until 13 November (after a previous series of online events on 3–9 November) in five cities in the UK – Belfast, St Andrews, Cardiff, Cambridge and London. Meetings, lectures, exhibitions and discussions with the participation of Ukrainian and British educators, scholars, artists and diplomats will be held at leading universities – Queen’s University Belfast, University of St Andrews, Cardiff University, University of Cambridge, Birkbeck and Senate House.
The Ukrainian delegation includes Olha Oseredchuk-Savenko, Head of the Project Office at the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies and Professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University. She took part in the panel discussion «Historical Memory and the Establishment of Ukrainian Statehood», which focused on issues of identity, historical memory and how to resist attempts to steal our history. Sharing these perspectives with British colleagues was particularly valuable as telling our own history truthfully has never been more important than it is today.
At the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Queen’s University Belfast and the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies which became an important step toward strengthening academic partnerships and promoting joint research on Ukraine.
