On 14 November, 2025, the ceremonial opening of the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Mediation & Universities 2.0 took place in the Assembly Hall of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event brought together leading scientists, mediators, representatives of the judiciary, business, the educational community and students, creating a modern platform for discussion on the development of mediation in Ukraine and its integration into the higher education system.
The co-organizer of this large-scale scientific and practical event was the Institute for Law, Psychology, and Innovative Science, in particular the Department of Administrative and Informational Law. The main attention at the conference was focused on the role of universities as key centers, where scientific research, educational programs, models and methods of practical training of mediators are harmoniously combined.
Ukrainian and international scholars discussed current trends in the development of mediation, its role in social transformations, the implementation of ethical standards, its application in family, labour, business and social disputes, as well as the prospects for mediation in post-war societies.
The conference was organized with the financial support of the European Union, provided within the framework of the projects Pravo-Justice, CONSENT, as well as the project «Strengthening the Ukrainian EU Adjustment Process in the Area of the Rule of Law» – (3E4U), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Germany. The event was implemented by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation.
