The project will be implemented in partnership with the Northumbria University under the leadership of Ivan Opirsky, Head of the Department of Information Protection, and Dr. Biju Isaac, Director of Academic Center of Excellence in Cyber Security Research.

The five-day intensive course will be held for 32 specialists with the participation of three lecturers from the Department of Information Protection in Newcastle in January 2026. The program covers advanced penetration testing methods, vulnerability analysis of network systems, IoT security and cloud technologies. Special attention will be paid to the integration of NATO standards into domestic cybersecurity practices.

– This grant is a recognition of our expertise and contribution to the development of cybersecurity. Cooperation with a leading British university will allow us to master the most modern methods of protection against cyber threats, which is critically important for protecting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure in the conditions of hybrid warfare, commented Ivan Opirsky, the Head of the Department.

The project is of strategic importance for preparing Ukraine for integration into NATO and strengthening national cybersecurity. The knowledge gained will be integrated into the university’s educational programs and disseminated among Ukrainian IT companies.
