Lviv Polytechnic delegation visits State Chancellery of Saxony

On 24 October, a delegation of Lviv Polytechnic National University led by Rector Nataliia Shakhovska visited the State Chancellery of Saxony, the Federal Republic of Germany.

During a meeting with Dirk Diedrichs, Head of the Department of European and International Relations, the State Chancellery of Saxony, the parties discussed the impact of the war on the university’s activities and academic communities, the prospects for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, and the substantial preparatory work required for our country to achieve this goal.

Special attention was given to the need to adapt the public governance system to EU standards, as well as to the training and professional development of personnel at all levels of state administration and local self-government. In this context, Dirk Diedrichs emphasized the importance of cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic and Meissen University of Applied Sciences and reaffirmed the State Chancellery of Saxony’s commitment to supporting joint educational and research initiatives.

The German side expressed particular interest in Lviv Polytechnic’s practical experience and expertise in addressing and overcoming the consequences of military aggression. Rector Ralf Lunau, Professor and Head of the Department of Public Governance, representing the German side, as well as by Liubomyr Pylypenko, Director of the Institute of Public Administration, Governance and Professional Development, and Mykola Bunyk, Head of the Department of Public Governance, representing the Ukrainian side, attended the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic, invited the delegation of the State Chancellery of Saxony to visit the university in Lviv.
