This year, students of the educational programme Book and Easel Graphics and Restoration, the Department of Graphics and Book Art, the Institute of Printing and Media Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University, took part in the University Art Biennial, which took place in Mallorca at the ADEMA University School with the participation of 21 leading art institutions from around the world.

A student group from Lviv Polytechnic joined the event under the Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme), which included participation in an art exhibition, a series of workshops, presentations, and active intercultural cooperation with young artists from different countries. Our students presented projects in various media – graphics, painting, installation, performance – demonstrating a wide range of approaches to contemporary art.

The group exhibition of the Ukrainian group of students was shown at the Campus Coll location in the exhibition halls in the ADEMA University (Mallorca, Spain). The participants of the exhibition are students Anna Rusavska, Daniela Palash, Sofia-Svitlana Boliubash, Sofia Hrypa, Anastasia Kovaliova, Anastasia Podolian, Yana Baryska, Diana Lytovka, Yana Kucherenko and Senior Lecturer Solomia Dorosh.

In addition to the group exhibition, Sofia Hrypa’s project Bullet train (installation, video and easel graphics) was prepared for a separate exhibition at the Fundación Barceló (Mallorca, Spain).

The faculty of the Department of Graphics and Book Arts, Lviv Polytechnic, took an active part in the Erasmus+ Mobility programme. Staff Mobility for Teaching programme under which they presented our university at the international conference and round table Creative Communication Capsules. They also provided artistic curation and guidance for student projects, ensuring a high level of artistic representation of the Ukrainian team.

The project manager is Senior Lecturer Maria Pliatsko, and the managers of the student art projects are Maria Pliatsko, Olena Zherebetska and Solomiia Dorosh.

The event brought together artists, educators and researchers to discuss the role of art in the contemporary world, innovations in art education and transnational cultural dialogue. Aarhus School of Architecture (Arhus, Denmark), Royal Danish Academy (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Adema University School of Fine Arts (Mallorca, Spain) contributed to the Ukrainian group receiving support under the Erasmus+ programme.

Participation in the Biennale has become an important platform for the presentation of Ukrainian art at the international level, professional development of students and teachers, and the establishment of academic cooperation between European institutions.
