Associate Professors Ihor Mohyla, Taras Postransky, Maksym Afonin and Romana Bura, the Department of Transport Technologies, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, Lviv Polytechnic, participated in the 2nd International MoveOn Autumn School, which took place as part of the Erasmus+ KA1 academic mobility program at the University of Kassel (Germany) on 21–25 October, 2025.
The Autumn School, organized by the Department of Cycling and Sustainable Mobility, the University of Kassel, brought together participants from the universities of Lviv, Tirana (Albania), Tbilisi (Georgia), Makerere (Uganda), Mekele (Ethiopia), Cape Coast (Ghana), as well as Trinidad and Tobago.
The main goal of the event was to raise awareness among transport researchers about active mobility planning, exchange experiences with representatives from other countries and foster cooperation with Erasmus+ partners.
The participants of the Autumn School learned more about theoretical and practical aspects of active mobility planning at the lectures given by representatives of the University of Kassel and school participants on the following topics:
- A new world of mobility: challenges and more;
- Inclusive active mobility: a lever for justice, health and climate resilience in cities of the Global South;
- Participatory planning in theory and practice: the experience of Living labs in East Africa.
In addition, Associate Professor Taras Postranskyi delivered a report on Sustainable Mobility in Cities: from Idea to Habit.
Participants also took part in several workshops, the outcome of which was a joint publication titled Assessment of Cycling and Pedestrian Policies in Post-War Reconstruction, prepared through collaborative work in international groups and presented by Associate Professor Ihor Mohyla.
In addition, a potential joint project was discussed with Professor Angela Franke, Head of the Department of Cycling and Sustainable Mobility at the University of Kassel, dedicated to the implementation of individual lectures and disciplines related to cycling and cycling infrastructure planning in the educational process.
