From March 11 to May 25, 2024, the Department of Accounting and Analysis (AA Department), the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic, held the All-Ukrainian Accounting Olympiad for college students.
Every year, the Olympiad attracts more and more college students and expands its geography. The event took place online, consisted of two rounds and included problem-solving tests in accounting and taxation.
In total, 136 students from 29 vocational colleges from 15 regions of Ukraine took part in the Olympiad.
Before the final of the Olympiad, the participants had the opportunity to talk to Professor Ihor Yaremko, head of the Department of Accounting and Analysis, the head of the jury of the Olympiad, and Natalia Voskalo, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the AA Department. They told about the importance and necessity of the accounting profession for the modern economy, about the advantages and opportunities of the major Accounting and Taxation, and also invited the participants to continue their studies at Lviv Polytechnic.
Anna Fedorenko, a representative of PwC Lviv Service Delivery Center, also addressed the participants of the Olympiad, and told about the company’s activities and opportunities for students regarding education and employment.
Students of Chernivtsi, Drohobych, and Khmelnytskyi colleges celebrated their victory (first prize) in an intense competition. Among the winners there are students from Kherson, Malyn, Kolomyia, Ternopil, Shostka, Rivne, Husiatyn, Tlumach, Kyiv, Odesa, Mohyliv-Podilskyi and other cities.
The organizers provide all participants with certificates of participation in the Olympiad, and teachers with certificates of active participation and high-quality training of students. These documents will be posted on the Olympiad website. Diplomas of the winners will be sent to the email addresses of the colleges.
