ICTE students win the All-Ukrainian Huawei Student Tech Challenge 2025

The All-Ukrainian Huawei Student Tech Challenge 2025, an engineering and technology competition, organized by Huawei Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, was held in the Clust Space of the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute».

Huawei Student Tech Challenge is a large-scale team competition for students of technical specialties aimed at developing young talents in the fields of telecommunications, computer networks and digital energy. In 2025, the competition brought together more than 200 students from 20 leading technical universities of Ukraine, who formed 48 teams and competed in four engineering areas for a month:

  1. Radio Access Network Planning;
  2. Datacom Engineering;
  3. Transport Network Engineering;
  4. Digital Energy.

Within the framework of the competition, students of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Electronic Engineering, Lviv Polytechnic National University, demonstrated brilliant results and received the highest honors. The teams and participants were awarded valuable prizes from Huawei, which became a gratifying acknowledgment of their effort, dedication, and excellent performance.

Victory in the Datacom Engineering

ByteForge team under the guidance of Mykola Beshley, Professor at the ICTE Department of Information and Communication Technologies, achieved a convincing victory in the Datacom Engineering category. Under his leadership, the students demonstrated profound theoretical knowledge, advanced, technical skills, and the ability to apply modern engineering approaches to the design of complex network solutions.

Special nomination for the Packet Loss team

Packet Loss team represented Lviv Polytechnic in the Transport Network Engineering. Its supervisor was Mykhailo Klymash, Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, who was also a jury member in the Datacom Engineering category.

The team received a special nomination «For a creative approach to the issue of detailed configuration of information search and filtering», which confirmed the ability of its participants to think outside the box, demonstrate creativity, and work effectively with modern transport network technologies.
