An exhibition of Andrii Peleshchyshyn’s photos was opened in honor of the first Head of the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities. Andrii Peleshchyshyn is an important personality for the Department, which is why his colleagues decided to immortalize the memory of him with photos, because he revealed himself through them.
For the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities, Andrii Peleshchyshyn was not just the Head of the Department or the Professor, but also a mentor, friend, colleague and ideological inspirer. Unfortunately, Andrii Peleshchyshyn is no longer with us physically, but his legacy is firmly woven into the history of Lviv Polytechnic, reminding colleagues that it seems it has happened recently. In addition, the photo exhibition of his works is an attempt to convey what kind of person he was.
– Andrii Peleshchyshyn loved freedom, freedom of spirit, he always had his own opinion - these photos show the features of his character. We rested together, went to conferences lots of times, and he always had a camera with him and tried to take pictures. I looked at the photos presented in this photo exhibition, and I see that this is exactly what he loved most in life – nature. There were often animals and flowers in his lens – Andrii Peleshchyshyn always knew how to capture the moments that inspire us, says Pavlo Zhezhnych, Vice-Rector for Education and Informatization, Lviv Polytechnic.
The photo exhibition presents macro photographs divided into seasons - from winter to autumn. Their characteristic feature is not only nature motives, but also attention to detail, an extraordinary approach to the angle of shooting and composition of the frame. Colleagues say that they have always wondered how Andrii Peleshchyshyn managed to catch something so extraordinary, invisible to the public eye and convey it through photography.
Andrii Peleshchyshyn had an energetic approach to work - at the University he was remembered as a progressive young professor who was not afraid to express his own opinion, supported the initiatives of his colleagues, and communicated with more experienced researchers. He was always for innovation and development of the SCIA Department. The opening of the photo exhibition took part within the International Scientific and Technical Conference «Information, Communication, Society», founded by Andrii Peleshchyshyn. It became the pride of the SCIA Department and the landmark of Lviv Polytechnic.
