A working meeting of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science and Sports was held at the Office of the President of Ukraine. The meeting was held in a hybrid format - both online and offline.
During the meeting, the Fund's Board identified key areas of educational and scientific programs to be supported this year. One of the areas was the program to attract foreign professors and lecturers to teach in Ukraine. It will open up new opportunities for domestic higher education institutions, allowing them to invite leading international scholars and lecturers to deliver lectures, conduct joint research in Ukraine and develop international cooperation.
Summing up the results of the previous year's activities, the participants got acquainted with the results of the double degree program between higher education institutions of Ukraine and the UK, which is being implemented within the Twinning initiative. These programs allow students to obtain diplomas from both Ukrainian and British universities without having to travel abroad. This significantly improves the quality of education, facilitates international mobility and Ukraine's integration into the global educational community.
The initiative has already established 10 partnerships between Ukrainian and British universities, which have launched 10 master's programs, including:
- Lviv Polytechnic National University and Nottingham Trent University - Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health.
To date, about 300 students have already completed or are continuing their studies, and another 200 students will be enrolled in the program this year. 6 educational programs have been accredited by the German agency ZEvA which have confirmed their high quality.
