This year, continuing its long-standing tradition, Lviv Polytechnic once again welcomed Dr. Annelies Debrunner Bonfadelli, a cherished friend of the University. Since the beginning of the war, the Swiss Soroptimist International Federation has been actively supporting Ukraine, so Annelies Debrunner Bonfadelli gladly accepted an invitation of the leadership of the Institute of Economics and Management, and participated in a series of engaging events.
At a working meeting at the Institute of Economics and Management with the participation of Mykhailo Honchar, IEM Director, Olha Melnyk, Head of the Department of Foreign Trade and Customs, and Yurii Malynovskyi, Deputy Director, the Institute students were once again awarded grants. The establishment of these grants is one of the initiatives of Dr. Annelies Debrunner Bonfadelli, president of the SI Club Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, aimed at supporting talented Ukrainian youth. This time, the grants were awarded to Anastasiia Buchkovska (group ME-45), Anastasiia Hreben (ME-47), Marta Sluka (ME-310), Viktoriia Stashchuk (ME-48), Iryna Pylypiv (ME-310) and Sofiia Tserkovna (ME-48).
During her friendly visit, Dr. Annelies Debrunner Bonfadelli had the opportunity to meet with Professor Oleh Karyi, Doctor of Economics, Vice-Rector for International Relations, who told her about the work of his office and discussed potential avenues for developing joint initiatives.
The guest’s visit to the Institute of Architecture and Design (IARD), including a meeting with Director Yurii Dyba and his Deputy Yaroslav Rakochyi, proved to be both significant and engaging. At the friendly meeting, Dr. Debrunner Bonfadelli expressed her intention to extend the valuable tradition of awarding grants to this Institute as well. This year’s IARD grant recipients were Daryna Halyshych (group DS-35) and Oksana Shurypa (DS-22).
The grant is awarded to students who:
- demonstrate exceptional academic performance and achievements in their chosen field of study;
- take an active part in the life of the University and society, showing not only excellence in their studies but also outstanding leadership qualities. Their dedication to Lviv Polytechnic and active involvement in student life merit special recognition.
