The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Resolution “On the Appointment of Scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists – Doctors of Sciences in 2024”, which appoints 50 scholarships for young scientists – Doctors of Sciences in 2024. The amount of each scholarship is five monthly subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons established as of 1 January 2024.
In accordance with the Resolution, four representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University were awarded scholarships:
- Yaroslav Blikharskyi, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Highways and Bridges, the Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems, for the research work «Technical condition and strengthening of damaged reinforced concrete structures using the method of digital image correlation»;
- Volodymyr Hurei, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Robotics and Integrated Mechanical Engineering Technologies, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, for the research work «Increasing the durability of machine parts by forming a nanocrystalline structure of surface layers by thermal deformation treatment»;
- Taras Maksymiuk – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Telecommunication, the Institute of Telecommunications, Radioelectronics and Electronic Engineering, for the scientific (scientific and technical) work «Development of optimised artificial intelligence algorithms for applied applications of the Internet of Things in the socio-economic sphere»;
- Viktoriia Kharchuk, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Management and International Business, the Institute of Economics and Management, for the research work «Harmonious development of enterprises in the context of economic recovery of Ukraine».
This Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supports the scientific activities of young researchers and was developed by the members of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation to create opportunities and incentives for scientific research in Ukraine within the framework of priority areas of science and technology development in 2024.
