For 30 years, the Department of Finance, the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic, has been training professionals in the field of public finance. Lots of the University graduates work in state and local government.
The Discussion Club was stablished to continue the high-quality training of students. It aims at the cooperation in the field of education, science, business, and financial management at the state and local levels. The expected result is the integration of the intellectual capital of institutions of higher education, authorities and business for the future.
On February 21, 2024, at the scheduled meeting of the Discussion Club, the Department of Finance, Lviv Polytechnic, the following issues were discussed:
Is there a lack of personnel in your services?
- Your opinion on the quality of graduates.
- How will the requirements for graduates change in 5–10 years?
- Prospects and benefits of civil service for graduates.
The partners of the event are Sense Hub Lviv (head Yelyzaveta Popovych), Sense Bank (Oksana Havryliv, head of the Lviv branch).
Following the results of the meeting, directions for further cooperation were outlined, in particular:
- professional development and upskilling of teaching staff in public finance management;
- employment of graduates;
- conducting guest lectures and workshops;
- reviewing training manuals;
- updating educational programs in accordance with the employer’s requirements;
and much more.
