On this occasion, a round table «Theoretical and Applied Economics in Modern Realities – Role in the Restoration of Ukraine» was held. It was attended by scientific and pedagogical workers not only from the Department of Theoretical and Applied Economics, but also from the entire Institute of Public Administration, Governance and Professional Development (IPAG), as well as the Institute of Economics and Management (IEM), since the Department was originally part of IEM, and in 2015 it became part of the predecessor of IPAG – the Institute of Administration and Postgraduate Education.
The event was attended by colleagues from other universities that train economists, in particular from Lviv National University and the University of Trade and Economics, as well as from Kyiv HEIs who joined online. They greeted their colleagues and shared their experience, vision, problems and understanding of development prospects.
It is important that the Department organizes the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Formation of the Implementation of Competition Policy» every two years, as only two universities in Ukraine train specialists for the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, including Lviv Polytechnic.
Roman Korzh, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, awarded the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department with diplomas and awards.
The jubilee round table became a platform for dialogue not only about the role of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Economics in training specialists across various fields, but also about the importance of economic disciplines as a fundamental basis for Ukraine’s modern reconstruction. It highlighted the key tasks of educators in this area, who combine theory with practice to develop both essential universal competencies and applied skills in students.
