On August 9, entrants to the bachelor’s, junior bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy, veterinary medicine and medicine got enrolled in the government-funded places.
The number of students enrolled on the basis of complete general secondary education to a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree in medicine, pharmaceuticals and veterinary medicine) is 58,698 people, for a junior bachelor’s degree – 467 people.
In the electronic cabinets of entrants who have fulfilled all the requirements for submitting original documents to higher education institutions, the status of the application has changed to «Included in the order (education at the expense of the state budget)».
According to the state enterprise Inforesurs, the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» (3,911 people) ranks first in the ranking of higher education institutions by the number of students enrolled in the government-funded places. The following HEIs in the ranking are:
- 2nd place – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (3 thousand 66 people);
- 3rd place – Lviv Polytechnic National University (2 thousand 448 people);
- 4th place – Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2 thousand 259 people);
- 5th place – V. Karazin Kharkiv National University (1 thousand 245 people);
- 6th place – National Aviation University (1 thousand 215 people);
- 7th place – National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» (1 thousand 215 people);
- 8th place – Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (1 thousand 48 people);
- 9th place – National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (1 thousand 26 people);
- 10th place – Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (860 people).
Among the popular specialties with the government-funded places the most popular is «Secondary education» – 6 thousand 217 people. The following specialties in the ranking are:
- 2nd place – «Medicine» (3 thousand 664 people);
- 3rd place – «Computer Science» (3 thousand 421 people);
- 4th place – «Philology» (2 thousand 325 people);
- 5th place – «Software Engineering» (1 thousand 899 people);
- 6th place – «Computer Engineering» (1 thousand 700 people);
- 7th place – «Electric power, electrical engineering and electromechanics» (1 thousand 659 people);
- 8th place – «Construction and Civil Engineering» (1 thousand 492 people);
- 9th place – «Law» (1 thousand 156 people);
- 10th place – «Agronomy» (1 thousand 108 people).
It should be noted that entrants who have benefits and apply for transfer to the government-funded places must submit supporting documents to the HEIs until August 11, and the transfer will take place till August 19.
Enrollment in the contract form of study will last until September 30, the terms are defined in the Rules of Admission of HEIs. The status «Recommended (contract)» may appear opposite several applications – the entrant determines which proposal to choose.
Let us remind that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine abandoned the manual distribution of the state order in higher education in favour of the principle of «government-funded places for the best entrants» and the formula distribution of the state order.
