On May 23–24, 2019, the International Conference on Economic Context of Social and Environmental Justice, dedicated to issues of social justice and sustainable development, was held at the University of Łódź. Such topical and important issues as citizen participation in budget formation, climate change, creation of urban green areas, formation of a smart city and problems of regional development were discussed at the event.
Among the participants of the conference there were representatives of the Silesian University of Technology (Katowice, Poland), the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (Leipzig, Germany), the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland), Lviv Polytechnic National University, the University of Bucharest (Romania), the Institute for Forecasting of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Ternopil National Economic University, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) and Warsaw School of Economics (Poland).
Professor Ihor Alieksieiev, the Head of the Department of Finance, Olena Pozniakova, Deputy Head of the Department for External Relations and the Associate Professor Marta Lyvdar participated in the conference.
