One of the largest competitions from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which finances university research, has finished. This year it has undergone significant changes.

Based on the results of the scientific and scientific-technical expertise of the projects (more than 3500 examinations were carried out) and in accordance with protocol decisions No. 1 and 2 of the meetings of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of 14 and 24 February 2025, Order No. 369 of 25.02.2025 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a list of 131 research projects has been approved. The projects will be implemented by higher education and research institutions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science, which have passed the competitive selection process. Their funding will begin in March 2025 at the expense of the state budget of Ukraine.

Most of the project winners are in such sections as Physics, Nuclear Physics and Astronomy, Information Technology and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Construction Technologies, Logistics and Transport.

The leaders in terms of the number of selected projects are the universities of Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Kharkiv. Almost UAH 130 million will be allocated for research in 2025. Thanks to the implemented changes, scientists have more opportunities for quality research that will contribute to the development of the country and its technological potential.

Among the winners of the competition there are eight projects submitted by the researchers of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
