The 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference «Problems of Research, Preservation and Restoration of Historical Fortifications» was held on 18–19 September, 2025. It was organized by the Department of Architecture and Conservation, the Institute of Architecture and Design, Lviv Polytechnic.
The first session of the conference was held in the main academic building of Lviv Polytechnic National University. Professor Mykola Bevz, Doctor of Architecture, Head of the Department of Architecture and Conservation, delivered a welcome speech at the opening of the conference. The European partners, in particular Denise van Nieuwenhuizen from ICOFORT, as well as Dirk Röder, Vice-President of the European ForteCultura, attended the event.
On 19 September, the meeting continued in Ivano-Frankivsk at the Congress Center of the Potocki Palace. The conference featured the latest research on the preservation and restoration of historical fortifications in Poland and Ukraine and addressed key theoretical and practical issues related to the study, protection, and conservation of defensive architecture.
