Major Areas of Activities of International “Integration” Centre for Professional Partnerships:
- Search, identification and use of international and national resources of educational and professional environment on the issues of incorporating social inclusion approaches to effectively address existing humanitarian, social, educational and professional needs in educating social work professionals;
- Assessing educational, professional, humanitarian and social needs of persons with disabilities and chronic diseases, based on the models developed as the result of the well-known Canada-Ukraine Reforming Social Services Project (1999-2003);
- Providing support for educational activities of persons with disabilities and chronic diseases throughout the entire period of their studies at the University to address their needs;
- Planning and implementation of educational and professional initiatives, social and humanitarian projects and programs related to solving problems of people with special needs who study at a higher educational institution;
- Providing consulting services to create a safe educational environment for people with special needs;
- Dissemination of the advanced world-wide experiences in creating a safe educational environment for interpretation, adaptation and creative use of these experiences in Ukraine by means of the development of campaign materials and their dissemination through training, advisory activities and distribution of these materials on the website of the International “Integration” Center;
- Providing support for educational and professional initiatives as well as social and humanitarian projects and programs aimed at addressing the problems of people with special needs and their information support;
- Development of a network of field placement sites of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) of Lviv Polytechnic National University, promotion of application of value-based, professional knowledge and skills and acquiring professional experiences in social inclusion;
- Providing mediation services to regulate problems of persons with special needs;
- Establishment of cooperation with social and political organizations, state bodies and local government agencies, higher educational institutions on the issues of social inclusion; and
- Establishment of cooperation with the mass media to promote the dissemination of the social inclusion experiences.
