The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites you to a meeting with Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi, a member of the Parliament of Romania, the head of the Union of the Ukrainians of Romania (UUR), a leader of the Ukrainian community, a well-known public and political activist, and a delegation of the UUR.

Today, the Ukrainian community of Romania is not only the fourth largest national minority in the country, but also a strong monolithic community that preserves and develops its own culture and identity, cooperates effectively with state and local authorities, and in the conditions of Russian aggression in Ukraine was one of the first to organize aid to our state and people. The guarantee of this is the successful activity of the Union of the Ukrainians of Romania – a representative parliamentary organization of the Ukrainian community, which is part of the Council of National Minorities of Romania and has its active centers in various regions of the country.

  • Ukrainians of Romania today – what the Ukrainian community is like in Romania, and what challenges and priorities the Union of Ukrainians of Romania is facing.
  • An example of leadership – how a native of the Ukrainian village of Rona de Sus, Maramureș County, became a member of the Parliament of Romania, and why representation in the parliament is important for the Ukrainian community.
  • Cooperation as a key to success – how does the Ukrainian community in Romania act during the Russian aggression in Ukraine and how we can bring victory closer together.

We will talk about these and other things in the format of a dialogue with Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi and representatives of the Union of Ukrainians of Romania.

Participation in the event is free. There is an air raid shelter in the premises.
