The Department of Ukrainian Language, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites students of 9, 10 and 11 grades to participate in the spring school «Training course on the Ukrainian language (NMT – 2023)».
The Spring School will run from March 27 to April 14, 2023 (Monday-Wednesday each week) and will be held online on the Zoom platform. The classes start at 18:00. Study is free of charge.

Spring School of the Department of Ukrainian Language
«Ukrainian language training course (NMT – 2023)»
for Lviv Polytechnic entrants
- 1st day – Phonetics and means of melodiousness of the Ukrainian language
- Ihor Vasylyshyn. During the training, its participants will learn to recognize the pronunciation of vowels and consonants (sound combination dz, dzh; assimilation, simplification in groups of consonants; pronunciation of soft, lengthened and doubled consonants), the ratio of sounds and letters. The participants will also master the means of melodiousness of the Ukrainian language.
- 2nd and 3rd day – Orthographic norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Zoriana Kunch and Iryna Mentynska. During the training, its participants will acquire the skills of recognizing learned orthograms, correct writing of words with learned orthograms, learn to find and correct spelling mistakes according to the learned rules.
- 4th and 5th day – Lexical norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Liliia Kharchuk and Oksana Mykytiuk. During the training, its participants will learn to explain the lexical meanings of words; choose synonyms and antonyms for words and use them in speech; use words figuratively; find in the text and appropriately use in speech the learned groups of words by meaning (homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, and paronyms); to explain the meaning of phraseological units, to use them correctly and communicatively in speech.
- 6th day – Morphological norms of the Ukrainian literary language
- Oksana Lytvyn. During the training, its participants will learn to recognize different parts of speech, to conjugate them correctly, to distinguish correct forms from incorrect ones, to use them in speech, using their expressive capabilities; and also determine the compatibility of numerals with nouns.
- 7th and 8th day – Syntactic norms of the literary Ukrainian language
- Halyna Horodylovska and Sofiia Bulyk-Verkhola. During the training, its participants will learn different types of sentences, as well as identify the subject and predicate in different types of sentences.
- 9th day – Ukrainian punctuation
- Iryna Shmilyk. During the training, its participants will learn difficult cases of Ukrainian punctuation.
