Meeting with Jaroszlava Hartyányi, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress

The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites you to a meeting with Jaroszlava Hartyányi, the Ukrainian diaspora in Hungary, the Second Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and Head of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (since October 2023). She is also the author of the book «Hidden Truth» about the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932–1933, thanks to which the Hungarian Parliament recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

During the event, participants will have a great opportunity to:

  • meet an incredible woman, whose relentless energy is always aimed at protecting Ukraine and Ukrainians in the world;
  • view the exhibition about the 75-year history of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations, dedicated to the XII Congress of the WFUWO;

and learn about:

  • methods of advocacy of Ukraine’s interests in the world by the Ukrainian diaspora and the Ukrainian World Congress in modern conditions;
  • changes in the forms and priorities of cooperation between the UWC and the State of Ukraine;
  • the role of cultural diplomacy as a strong soft power in conditions of war;
  • the vision of the new head of WFUWO regarding the main areas of activity of this organization for the coming years.

Representatives of the state self-government of Ukrainians in Budapest, local authorities and public organizations of Lviv, teaching staff, scientists and students will take part in the meeting.

The event will be held on November 9, 2023 in the Zachariewicz Hall (room 214) of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic. Beginning at 15:00.
