On December 2, 2022, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Hryhoriy Skovoroda, the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, is organizing the presentation of a new unique textbook on the Ukrainian language as a foreign language «Catch Skovoroda».

The main character of the book is Hryhoriy Skovoroda, who ended up in our time. From chapter to chapter, the philosopher travels to the iconic places of his life – Ukraine and abroad. Let’s travel together with the genius. Maybe this will encourage us to delve deeper into the wonderful world of meanings and teachings of the great master.

At the presentation there will be a meeting with special guest – Myroslava Gongadze, a well-known Ukrainian-American journalist and TV presenter. In particular, she will express her thoughts on the problems of global promotion of the Ukrainian language and knowledge about Ukrainian culture, especially during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

In addition, those present will have the opportunity to communicate with the author’s team. The IECDR members will talk about this project from the idea to its practical implementation, as well as about the specifics of working with texts and exercises.

It should be noted that this original edition was created for the integrated study of the Ukrainian language and culture. In a special way, it complemented the collection of textbooks written by IECDR, including Stories from Lesia’s Life (to the 200th anniversary of Lesia Ukrainka), Key to Ukraine: Cities and People and A Journey through Ukraine.

We invite everyone who wants to dive into the Skovoroda’s trip with us. The event will be held online. To join it, be sure to register. On the eve of the event, we will send you an invitation to the Zoom meeting. Participation is free of charge. The meeting starts at 16:00.
