The Scientific and Research Center of Solid-State Electronics and Sensors (Crystal Center) was established at the Department of Semiconductor Electronics within the Scientific and Research Division of Lviv Polytechnic National University with the aim to:
- Improve the efficiency of basic and applied researches;
- Use effectively intellectual potential of employees, post-graduate and doctoral students;
- Expand modern material and technical base providing conditions for educational process organization;
- Implement technical developments into production process;
- Obtain extrabudgetary funds.
The purposes of the Scientific and Research Center of Solid-State Electronics and Sensors are:
- To conduct scientific and engineering research in the following areas:
- Study of physical and chemical, optical, electrophysical properties of new materials and influence of disturbing factors on these properties;
- Development of technologies for obtaining new crystalline and amorphous (noncrystalline) materials with defined properties;
- Development of the new types of sensors for physical quantities that have improved metrological characteristics and can operate in extreme conditions;
- Development and production of elements of modern measurement and control systems;
- To create the conditions for improving the quality of education;
- To develop and test new educational methods for their further application in Lviv Polytechnic National University;
- To obtain extrabudgetary funds;
- To renew material and technical base of the Department of Semiconductor Electronics required for education process.
