The Department of Administrative and Information Law actively conducts research aimed at a comprehensive understanding of modern trends in the development of public law in the context of Ukraine's European integration, improving the mechanisms of legal regulation in the areas of administrative, financial and information law, ensuring the legal security of public administration, protecting human rights and freedoms, and integrating the results of scientific research into the practice of law enforcement and regulatory activities.
The department's key research areas include theoretical, legal, and applied aspects of the functioning of public institutions in accordance with European Union standards; issues of public administration in Ukraine and EU member states; the legal foundations of public administration, financial activities of the state, and local governments in the context of European integration processes; legal regulation of information relations, digitalization, e-governance, and information and cybersecurity; and issues of guaranteeing human rights and freedoms in the public legal sphere amid modern security challenges.
An important area of the department's work is the practical implementation of scientific research results, in particular through the preparation of scientifically sound expert opinions and analytical materials for state and local government bodies, the development of proposals for improving administrative and information legislation, participation in regulatory processes, the formation of recommendations on public administration, digital transformation, and information support.
The department's general research topic is "Administrative and Legal Doctrine of Protecting Human and Civil Rights and Freedoms in the Context of Ukraine's European Integration" (state registration number 0121U110638).
Scientific and pedagogical staff of the department actively participates in the preparation and submission of project proposals for the competitive selection of fundamental and applied research projects, as well as scientific and technical (experimental) developments, in particular projects by young scientists, funded by the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine. Furthermore, the department's researchers are involved in preparing applications for the competitive selection of research projects and scientific and technical (experimental) developments implemented by higher education institutions and research institutions under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as in submitting applications for participation in international scientific and educational projects.
The Department of Administrative and Information Law places particular emphasis on the training of applicants for the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education.

During 2022-2025, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department defended two dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Law (Halyna Lukyanova and Nataliya Kantor) and one dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Viktoriya Valko).
During 2020-2025, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department published: 38 monographs (recommended by the University Academic Council); 7 textbooks; 19 teaching aids; 512 scientific articles in professional publications of Ukraine of category "B", including 61 in periodicals included in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science; more than 200 abstracts of reports at scientific and practical conferences.
The results of the department's scientific research are well reflected in published monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, dissertations, as well as in scientific articles. The scientific achievements of the department are actively integrated into the educational process, contributing to improving the quality of training of higher education applicants and the formation of their practical competencies in the field of administrative, information and financial law.
In addition, the results of the department's research are used to prepare scientifically sound expert opinions, recommendations for improving legislation and public administration practices, as well as for participation in regulatory processes. An important direction is the integration of scientific achievements into international projects and academic mobility programs, which contributes to the dissemination of advanced European experience, the development of international cooperation and the increase of graduates' competitiveness in the global labour market.

In 2023, the head of the department, Maria Blikhar, and professor Iryna Khomyshyn completed a scientific and pedagogical internship at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Republic of Poland) on the topic: "Legal education of the future: promising and priority areas of scientific research".
In 2024, the head of the department, Maria Blikhar, associate professors of the department, Iryna Shulhan and Olena Rizenko, completed a scientific and pedagogical internship at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Republic of Poland) on the topic: "Innovative approaches to training lawyers: integrating international experience into the educational process.".
Also in 2024, Professor of the Department Halyna Lukianova and Associate Professor of the Department Natalia Kantor completed an international scientific internship on the topic: “Public Administration in Germany. Dual Education”, organized by the German-Ukrainian Centre of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” in the format of the fifth symposium for teachers and students at the university in Thuringia (Federal Republic of Germany), where they had the opportunity to become familiar with the activities of public authorities (Tax Service, Ministry of Finance of Thuringia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and FAV Service gGmbH in Erfurt, City Council in Gotha) and educational institutions of various levels (University of Administration of Thuringia and Hugo Mayrich Educational Centre in Gotha, University of Public Administration of Thuringia in Meiningen).
In 2025, the head of the department, Maria Blikhar, and professors of the department, Ulyana Parpan, Olha Skochylyas-Pavliv, and assistant professor of the department, Viktoria Valko, completed an international internship at the Higher School of Economics and Innovation (WSEI) in Lublin (Republic of Poland) on the topic: "Innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching legal disciplines in the field of national security."
