As a result of interdisciplinary cooperation with leading scientific institutions (the Institute of Cell Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Animal Biology of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, and the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University), new water-based polymer and supramolecular structures suitable for biomedical applications have been developed.
This allows them to be used as diagnostic markers for cells and tissues, as well as theranostics capable of combining diagnosis and real-time therapy monitoring.
These materials have demonstrated high efficiency as carriers for targeted delivery of therapeutic agents, including water-insoluble compounds and genetic material. In addition, the structures created have the potential to be safe adjuvants for vaccines. The developments also cover the functionalization of polymers with magnetic, luminescent, X-ray contrast, and MRI-active components.
This development is promising for modern personalized medicine, nanopharmacology, and non-invasive diagnostics.
