Reaction compositions DPKF-2 (TU U 24.1-02071010-067-2002) have been developed for low-temperature molding of thermoplastic composites intended for the manufacture of orthopedic products, in particular, medium-stiffness stump sleeves.
The composition is a solution of thermoplastic polymers in a monomer, which hardens as a result of a radical reaction initiated by benzoyl peroxide.
The resulting material provides high strength at low thickness, elasticity, shape stability, thermoplasticity, and good adhesion to metal structural elements.
The products do not irritate the patient's skin, are lightweight, and allow for local adjustment to individual anatomical features.
Thanks to these characteristics, the development is an effective solution for individual prosthetics and orthopedic engineering, where comfort, precision, and reliability of structures are important.
