Consortium

The project consortium brings together leading universities, business representatives, and civil society organisations from the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and the Netherlands, who are committed to implementing circular economy principles in the construction sector, with a focus on concrete reuse and recycling.

Project Coordinator:
University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) – the administrative leader of the project, actively engaged in project management and the concrete separation process.

Technological Leader:
University of Leeds (United Kingdom) – serves as the technological coordinator and will focus on clinker/cement production, concrete characterisation and testing, as well as material cost optimisation through dynamic systems modelling.

Project Partners:

  • ReThink (Ukraine) – local project coordinator focusing on public engagement, dissemination of information, and communication activities.
  • Everox Technology (Netherlands) – key provider of technologies and equipment, offering solutions for thermomechanical treatment, optimisation of aggregates and fine fractions.
  • Eco+Logic (Ukraine) – responsible for deploying and operating Everox equipment for concrete separation, recycling, and the development of dry products. Also, in charge of construction waste logistics, sorting, and primary crushing.
  • Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine) – responsible for research in the field of concrete, on-site characterisation, development of new applications, and testing.
  • National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Ukraine) – will research blended cements and supplementary cementitious materials.
  • University of Oxford (United Kingdom) – will develop advanced models of thermomechanical separation.
  • Imperial College London (United Kingdom) – will conduct a comprehensive techno-economic and environmental life cycle assessment of the project.
