Seven second-year students from the Department of Applied Mathematics, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences (IMFS), Lviv Polytechnic, began their studies under the double degree program (bachelor’s degree) at the Jan Dlugosz University (Częstochowa, Republic of Poland) in the 2025–2026 academic year. The participants of the program are Krystyna Hanuszczak, Ruslana Pashko, Kamila Saka, Anna Yakubovska, Krystyna Pyniaha, Mariana Seredna and Veronika Smahula.
This opportunity was made possible due to the Agreement on Joint Education signed on 7 August, 2024, between Lviv Polytechnic National University and Jan Długosz University. Under the agreement, students pursue a degree in Applied Mathematics. Some of the disciplines completed at the Department of Applied Mathematics in Lviv are recognized by the Polish university, while the remaining subjects are studied directly in Częstochowa.
The final stage will be the defense of qualification papers in two languages: Polish – at Jan Długosz University, and Ukrainian – at Lviv Polytechnic. As a result, graduates of the program will receive two diplomas: a European diploma from a Polish partner and a Ukrainian diploma from the Lviv Polytechnic National University.
International mobility is one of the priorities of Lviv Polytechnic, which is actively supported by the administration of the IMFS, including Professor Petro Pukach, Director of the Institute, and heads of the Departments. A significant contribution to the organization of the program was made by Yuliia Seti, Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, and Zinovii Kohut, cooperation coordinator, Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Physics and Nanomaterials Science.
