Rector’s appeal regarding the situation around Lviv Polytechnic

YURII BOBALO, RECTOR OF Lviv POLYTECHNIC
Фасад головного корпусу Львівської політехніки

Dear community of Lviv Polytechnic!

Dear faculty and students!

There is a war going on in the country, and the enemy is working in all ways, using various hybrid methods to destabilize society. That is why we must unite around a common goal – our Victory over the Moscow invaders.

In the information space, resonates a topic, the emphasis of which has shifted exclusively to the issue of the Ukrainian language. Lviv Polytechnic has always adhered to and adheres to the principles of fostering the Ukrainian language, patriotism and preservation of value orientations – respect for our defenders, for everyone who selflessly fights for our statehood. Therefore, it is unfortunate that recent events have cast doubt on these issues.

I ask you to be vigilant and remember that the enemy can manipulate and disinform which we have seen in recent days. Apparently, this is one of those moments when we have to calm down our emotions and be guided by a cold mind. By stirring up emotions, not being careful about what and how we say, what information we spread, we help the enemy’s attacks against us all.

Let’s support those who defend Ukraine. Every confrontation undermines our strength, every social conflict weakens us, and gives the enemy new opportunities to destroy us from within.

Polytechnic, all students and faculty are united in supporting the front. The main task for all of us is to endure this bloody war, and to save the country and people. This means, first of all, to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, every soldier who, at the cost of his life, gives us a chance to live and work.

Please trust the University management. Time will put everything in its place.
