On the initiative of Liudmyla Andrushko, Associate Professor at the Department of Graphics and Book Art, students studying graphic design, book and easel graphics go to museums, art galleries, and theatres every Saturday to visit exhibitions, performances, thematic exhibition projects, various performances and interesting meetings.

Recently, the future graphic artists and designers went to the Lviv Palace of Arts, where they visited the photo exhibition of Anatolii Kovalskyi whose photographs convey the unique beauty of the Boykivshchyna National Nature Park.

The students also attended the exhibition of cut-outs «Flowers of Bakhmut» of Orest Helitovych which features more than 30 his works in the technique of cut-outs and paper graphics. The conceptual basis of this exhibition was the words of Hryhorii Skovoroda «Know Thyself». At the same time, the visitors saw exhibitions by Polish artists: the Silesium project, which explores the social, historical and cultural phenomena of Lower Silesia, as well as works by Wojciech Pukocz and a solo exhibition «Registry Office» of Maryna Skuharieva.

During the visit to the Potocki Palace they observed the Louis XVI-style enfilades of the salons on the ground floor, as well as the salons filled with furniture fittings and decorative and applied arts, which recreate the atmosphere of the palace in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and give an idea of the style and lifestyle of the Galician aristocracy.

A walk around the Lviv citadel was also interesting. Students learned that the citadel is a complex of fortifications built in the mid-nineteenth century, which changed their functions several times and served as barracks, residential buildings, defensive towers, artillery points with loopholes and bomb shelters. The art students are also discovering the world of theatre. Recently, they have attended performances by the First Academic Ukrainian Theatre for Children and Youth and the Voskresinnia Theatre. Traditionally, all the performances, exhibitions and excursions are followed by discussions and reflections.
