The largest Science Park in Ukraine celebrates its fifth anniversary. Established on 5 June, 2020, SID City Science Park, Lviv Polytechnic National University, has since carried out more than 40 international and regional projects. Its cooperation network includes more than 100 companies, organisations, institutions, universities, and government agencies from various fields and countries. SID City projects save lives, enter international markets and operate in different communities in Ukraine.
In addition to the founders, SID City cooperates with companies in various industries: Prana Platinum, a manufacturer of energy-efficient ventilation systems, Hydroxy Power, which develops and manufactures modern equipment for hydrogen gas generation, the international fund Greenfield Investment, Fruton LLC, Omega Strike and many others.
Areas of work and projects
In the initial phase of the Science Park’s development, the priority was focused on new and renewable energy sources, machine and instrumentation engineering, resource-saving technologies, microelectronics, telecommunications, improvement of chemical technologies, etc.
Over time, some areas have changed, especially after the full-scale invasion. Since its inception, SID City has supported the development of dual-use and medical projects, donating drones and other equipment. For example, with the support of patrons and partners, more than 4,000 Aquior hydrogel dressings were donated to the Lviv Military Medical Clinical Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to treat the military.
Lviv Polytechnic Science Park is also a member of four consortia and implements projects under the Horizon Europe programme.
- INPACE (2024–2027) – a programme to support the implementation of the Digital Partnership between the European Union and Japan, South Korea, Singapore and India. The consortium consists of 21 partners from 14 countries.
- Heat2Heat (2023–2028) – a project to create a complete value chain for heating commercial buildings with green hydrogen (H2). There are 11 partners in the consortium.
