As it was mentioned earlier, we will systematically inform Lviv Polytechnicians about the progress of a very important project funded by the European Investment Bank, as well as other energy saving measures implemented at our University.
So, as of November 8, 2024, the works in the third dormitory (27 Karpintsia St.) are being carried out according to the schedule:
- replacement of window structures;
- facade insulation and finishing;
- dismantling of the existing roof covering and installation of a new one with insulation.
The works are ongoing!
As for the other facilities (academic buildings Nos. 1, 2, 5), the start of the works has been slightly shifted, as the University and the contractor who won the tender for the work identified a number of comments on the design decisions, which were officially sent to the architects who developed the project (who are also the winners of the tender procedures) to make changes to the design and estimate documentation. Here, the position of our project implementation team and, in particular, the Rector, Professor Yuriy Bobalo, is unanimous and principled: quality and again quality of the process, as well as publicity! We will continue to inform Polytechnicians about the progress of this project, as well as about the problems that will arise and ways to solve them.
As for other energy saving measures that will be implemented at the University this year:
- On November11–12, we will start partial replacement of windows and balcony doors in academic building No. 7 (the Department of Foreign Languages), the rest will be restored next year. The boiler room in this building was replaced in 2016.
- Also in November, the door fillings in the courtyards of the main building will be replaced (the door blocks have already been manufactured).
- At present, the design and estimate documentation for the replacement of window fillings in academic building No. 14 (behind the Scientific Library) is undergoing state examination. So we plan to complete these works this year as well (windows were replaced in building No. 15 in October this year).
All these works are planned and are carried out in accordance with the plan of repair and restoration works for 2024 approved by the Rector.

Vice-Rector for Training and Production
