The Department of Theoretical and Applied Psychology, the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University, together with Nottingham Trent University, is launching a double degree program for master’s students majoring in Psychology (specialty 053).
Fourteen students will have the opportunity to obtain two diplomas in two years of study: at Lviv Polytechnic – a master’s degree in psychology, and at Nottingham Trent University – a master’s degree in mental health, trauma and psychological well-being. At our university, teaching will be provided in Ukrainian and English, and at Nottingham Trent it will be conducted online and in English.
Enrollment of students for the pilot study course took place in September 2023.
The double degree program is implemented thanks to the support of Cormack Consultancy Group, Great Britain, and Mosaik Education, as well as thanks to the collaboration with Gareth Williams, Associate Dean for Resources and Planning, Nottingham Trent University, and Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, with the assistance of Professor Nataliya Hots, head of the Center for International Education.
The purpose of the dual degree pilot project is to learn to create joint courses with the UK universities, and to promote recovery in mental illnesses of those involved in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The double degree pilot project is financed under a grant from Mosaik Education, an organization that helps refugees gain access to higher education.
Expected learning outcomes:
- the ability to demonstrate complex knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of knowledge in the field of social, working life and family psychology; to understand the peculiarities of burnouts and personal crises and to apply the acquired skills to overcome and prevent them, basing on the spheres of psychological well-being and mental health.
