Presentation of «The small chronology of artistic events and commemorative dates of the 20th century: Ukraine – the world»

On August 26, 2022, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic, a presentation of «The Small Chronology of Artistic Events and Commemorative Dates of the 20th Century: Ukraine – the world» will be held in the Assembly Hall of the main building of the University (12 Stepana Bandery St.).

  • Why does Ukrainian culture have a global dimension and what should we know about Ukrainian art on the American, European and Australian continents?
  • What was the Ukrainian artistic 20th century and what should it be like in the 21st?
  • Why is it important to talk about culture in times of war and how should we advance on the global cultural front?

The organizers invite you to discuss these and other questions at the long-awaited presentation of «The small chronology of artistic events and commemorative dates of the 20th century: Ukraine – the world» (author-editor Roman Yatsiv). The book received the BookForum Best Book Award. The appearance of the book became a real event for all fans of Ukrainian culture and art in the whole world.

The following events will take place during the presentation:

  • greetings from the leadership of Lviv Region and university rectors;
  • expert conversation with the participation of iconic representatives of the cultural and artistic milieu of Ukraine:
    • Roman Yatsiv, author-editor of the book, art historian, theorist, and artist;
    • Vladyslav Berkovskyi, executive director of the Ukrainian Cultural Fund;
    • Bohdan Tykholoz, general director of «Franko House»;
    • Liubomyr Medvid, People’s Artist of Ukraine;
    • Danylo Ilnytskyi, literary critic, cultural expert;
  • moderator is Iryna Kliuchkovska, director of IECDR;
  • broadcasting with Ukrainian artists from Canada, the USA and Europe;
  • art exhibition by Roman Yatsiv; musical greeting for guests of the event.

The organizers invite connoisseurs of culture and art, representatives of academic environments, the media community and others. Participation in the event is free. There is an air raid shelter in the premises.
